Women's Rugby
Waunarlwydd Women's team was founded in 2000 when two girls who played rugby with the boys were told that they could not play mixed rugby any longer. They were told that if they could find enough players the club would support them. 10 years later we have a thriving senior section with building numbers in the junior teams.
We have always strived to develop players for the club and country, supporting players to the Wales U19, development squad, students, U20s and national squad through the years, and in the past to the West Wales squads, U19s and seniors. More recently we have progressed players to the newly formed Ospreys regional squad.
In the last 4 years the team has been in the plate final 3 times, this year being successful and lifting the plate!
The team currently plays in the WRU Women's league Division 1 West and is entered in the National Cup Competition.
