Waunarlwydd started as the stronger team, playing all their rugby in the face of the division one leaders, giving them no time to settle. Soon Waunarlwydd started to pull away with some well deserved penalty goals. The visitors were in disarray and never really looked like scoring or pressuring the Waun try line throughout the first half, but did well to claw back a couple of penalties of their own to end the half 12 - 6 down.

Sustained pressure from the pack on the Bonymaen five metre line meant that the visitors lost their openside flanker to a yellow card for coming in on the side of the maul. Waun went for the lineout again only to be turned over allowing Bonymaen to clear their lines. Shortly later Waun lost their No8 to a red card for punching and the numbers were even again, if only for a few minutes. Waun continued to lead this encounter up until a small lapse in concentration 10 minutes from full time saw Bonymaen go over next to the posts for a try that they also converted. Waun, now staring defeat in the face, saw a few unforced errors creep into their game and the visitors were the team to have the last say with a well controlled push over scrum.

Another loss, but a very determined and gutsy performance that the boys should be proud of. We need to make sure that this is built upon for the next game against Llangennech and that we learn to close the game off once we are in front.
