In the first home game of the season Waun had the better of the early exchanges but, on a couple of occasions, fumbled the last pass or held onto the ball that little bit too long and allowed Llangennech to open the scoring early on with a converted try to the corner. Within minutes Waun had struck back with a well worked push over try, from a five metre lineout, that went un-converted. Immediately Llangennech replied with another converted try in the corner, which came about from a missed tackle resulting from poor communication. However, Waun were to finish the half as the stronger team with another push over try from a five metre lineout, plus a conversion and a penalty.

Early in the second half, Llangennech hit back with two penalties in close succession to start to pull away from Waun. There was a lengthy period where the play flowed back and forth quite evenly with no side taking initiative. Waun's failure to make first time tackles was starting to give Llangennech lengthy periods of possession where they seemed to always make good ground. Towards the end of the half they scored two converted tries to put the game completely out of Waun's reach. Waun however were determined to have the last say and went over for a very well worked try in the corner that also went un-converted.
