Following the very disappointing display against Whitland,Waun were forced into several changes.Robbie Jones replaced the injured Michael Harris while up front Lee Brookes started at hooker and Matthew Daniel was due to replace the unwell Simon Evans but broke down during the warm up.Paul Morris was moved to the second row and it was good to see Simon Hart at No.8 on his return to the club.

Bridgend took the lead after only three minutes with a converted try following a breakout from their own half which appeared to contain a forward pass.Waun started to come into the game and found themselves 12-7 ahead after twenty minutes following tries by Gethin Lillicrapand Jonny Lewis due to excellent back play.Bridgend missed a penalty on the half hour but further pressure from the Waun pack nearly led to another try.However,Jonny Lewis kicked two penalties in the closing minutes of the half,and although Bridgend exerted some pressure close to the Waun line on half time, the defence held and Waun led 18-7 at the interval.

The frst score in the second half was always going to be important and Bridgend started well with two penalties in the first quarter of an hour leaving Waun just five points ahead but after sixty five minutes Jonny Lewis put Waun eight points in front with a penalty following a rare visit to the Bridgend half.However Bridgend continued to dominate and the next ten minutes saw two further penalties leaving Waun two ponts ahead with five minutes to go. In the dying moments of the game Bridgend were given the opportunity to win the game with a penalty near the touchline on the Waun 22,but fortunately the kick was missed and Waun held on for their third victory of the season leaving then in eighth place with a difficult home match against third placed Llangennech next week.
