The first home game for a month saw David Norman replacing Alan Pope on the wing and Simon Daniel teaming up with Michael Harris once again.Up front, Phil Hadley started at hooker and New Zealander Scott King made his first start in the second row.

Waun started the match winning posesion in the Whitland half and creating promising situations thanks to good play from centres Stuart Fletcher and Matthew Mason but no points were forthcoming.Whitland then started to come into the game mainly through their forwards and took the lead after a quarter of an hour thanks to a close range penalty.Whitland missed a second penalty and as the half continued Waun were struggling to win their own ball at the line out and to increase their problems Michael Harris had to leave the field and was replaced by Robbie Jones.Only a fine tackle by Johnny Lewis prevented a try for Whitland in the corner,but on half time Whitland kicked a second penaly to lead by six points at half time.

Lee Brooks replaced Phil Hadley at half time, but the line out problems continued.Two fine runs by Jonny Lewis did not produce any scores as the Whitland forwards cotinued to dominate,Two further penalties were kicked leaving Waun twelve points behind with fifteen mintes remaining.Prior to the fourth penalty Adam Lee was sent to the sin bin with one of the Whitland plavers.Waun were given some hope with five minutes to go when Paul Morris scored a converted try from a close up scrum following another fine run by Johnny Lewis.However Whiland dashed their hopes with a fine try under the posts by Emyr Williams leaving Whitland deserved winners.

The result was a major disappointment for Waun as victory would have seen them in the top half of the table,but defeat sees Waun in ninth place.Next week will see Waun visitng Bridgend Athletic for an early season eight pointer.
